Description: SOLRIS is a primary data layer that provides a comprehensive, standardized, landscape level inventory of natural, rural and urban lands in Ecoregions 6E and 7E, current to 2000-2002.It is based on MNR's Ecological Land Classification (ELC) for southern Ontario (Lee et al,1998).Release Notes: The initial release of SOLRIS (Version 1.1 - November, 2006) is restricted to a geographic area generally constrained by the Greater Toronto Area. The current releaseof SOLRIS (Version 1.2 - April, 2008) covers Ecoregions 6E and 7E in entirety, but unlikeVersion 1.1, does not provide a classification of agricultural land use.Additional Time Period Information: The time period reflects the date range of the source data used to produce the SOLRIS product.Additional Metadata: http://mnronline.mnr.gov.on.ca/Document/view.aspDocument_ID=14695andAttachment_ID=30002
Description: SOLRIS is based on MNRF's Ecological Land Classification (ELC) for southern Ontario (Lee et al, 1998). It is a land use inventory that supports a number of key provincial initiatives including: State of Natural Resources Reporting (Forestry, Biodiversity), Natural Heritage Features Reporting (wetlands, woodlands), Climate Change Reporting and Land Use Planning. Maintained on a consistent update cycle, SOLRIS provides a standardized geospatial information layer that allows for reporting on changes in natural and anthropogenic features, such as wetland extent, forest afforestation/deforestation, habitat connectivity and built-up areas (impervious/pervious). The data covers the date ranges from 2000-2015 in Ecoregions 7E, 6E and 5E (Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe Study Area and an Eastern Ontario extension to the Forest Resources Inventory boundary).See documents for more information: Southern Ontario Land Resource Information System (SOLRIS) Version 3.0: Frequently asked questions- https://www.sse.gov.on.ca/sites/MNR-PublicDocs/EN/CMID/SOLRIS%20v3.0%20-%20FAQs.pdfSouthern Ontario Land Resource Information System (SOLRIS) Version 3.0: Data Specifications- https://www.sse.gov.on.ca/sites/MNR-PublicDocs/EN/CMID/SOLRIS%20v3.0%20-%20Data%20Specifications.pdf

Description: This data was updated from the SWP Land Use layer produced by JLee in 2010-2014. The current updates were done based on the 2019 Orthophoto on Sixteen Mile Creek watershed and part of Oakvilleand Burlington, focusing more on the anthropogenic features( urban areas, transportation, parking lots, agriculture etc. ). For the Sixteen Mile Creek Watershed, ELC has been used for the natural features updates. Wetlands were added from the most current and uptodate CH layer as of 14-10-2021. Last updated on:15-10-2021. Fields: Cover - type of land; Source – source used for the photointerpretation/ source of the data ( example sidewalks from Town of Oakville Open Data site); Edit Date – the most recent date when a feature was updated; Used_Ortho ( Which Orthophoto was used?): - shows which ortho was used for the review ( example Ortho 2019); Notes: any notes regarding the feature or project; Edit by: - shows the name of the last editor.
